OEM means “Original Equipment Manufacturer”.

Suppose I design a shoe or a shoe, but I don’t have my own factory to make it. I can pay someone who owns the factory to make it for me, then I put my logo on the product (or product component) and sell it as if I made it myself. The company that makes the product for me is “OEM”.

Another example is branded shoe companies such as Adidas and Nike. We style our products for the footwear industry, but we don’t have salespeople in Asia where we have more customers. They sell products as if they created it themselves. Except we make it, enhance it and support it. Adidas and Nike etc just put their logos on the products we create and sell them as their own shoes.

A variation of OEM is ODM. Suppose I have an idea for a shoe brand, but I have neither the ability nor the money to design or manufacture the product myself. So I can find an original design manufacturer that does both of those for me, and then I sell the product as if I had designed and manufactured it using my logo and salesperson/channel.
